In your role as a Legal and Regulatory Inventory Management Assistant General Counsel/Senior Counsel within the Office of Legal Obligations, you will be instrumental in aiding the Legal Department to document significant legal obligations and track pertinent legal and regulatory changes. You will engage in a global initiative aimed at establishing and executing a sustainable framework that accurately records JPMorgan Chase's obligations arising from critical laws, regulations, and rules, linking these obligations to relevant policies, procedures, or other compliance-related documentation. Collaborating with a diverse team of legal professionals, project managers, and regulatory experts, you will utilize your strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills to provide guidance to other members of the Legal Department, as well as compliance, controls, and business partners in a fast-paced environment. If you possess a keen intellect and a passion for developing solutions, you may find this role to be an excellent match for your skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Legal Department to create and sustain an inventory of legal obligations for JPMorgan Chase's operations in designated regions, addressing inquiries from business units and corporate functions regarding these obligations.
- Continuously monitor, identify, and document changes in legal and regulatory landscapes, providing comprehensive written summaries to the Legal Department and relevant corporate functions.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of laws, regulations, and rules to evaluate their applicability and implications for JPMorgan Chase.
- Champion ongoing efforts to enhance the inventory, emphasizing quality assurance, consistency, comprehensiveness, and precision of legal obligations.
- Develop expertise in the products and services offered by JPMorgan Chase as necessary.
- Assist in formulating policies, procedures, and controls.
- Work in tandem with technology partners to devise technological solutions that support the team's objectives.
- Licensed attorney in the relevant jurisdiction with substantial experience in private practice or in-house.
- Proficiency in English and a second language, such as French or Italian, is essential.
- Experience with EU and local financial services regulations.
- Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities, with the ability to succinctly summarize legal and regulatory updates for a non-legal audience.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with business units, corporate functions, and fellow legal and support professionals.
- Meticulous attention to detail with robust organizational and project management skills.
- A proactive self-starter with the ability to independently manage competing priorities and coordinate among diverse internal stakeholders.
- Experience in monitoring regulatory changes.
- Licensed to practice law in additional jurisdictions.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
