Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Learning Support Assistant to join our client secondary school. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to individual students with specific learning needs, helping them to achieve their academic goals and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with assigned students to support their learning in accordance with their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated instruction and adapt teaching materials as necessary.
  • Foster a positive relationship with students, encouraging engagement and participation in classroom activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual performance and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education.
  • Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people in their educational journey.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
