The role involves collaborating closely with the International Recruitment Manager (IRM) for South and South East Asia (SASEA) and other International Recruitment Managers and Senior International Officers to achieve institutional and College objectives aligned with the University’s International Recruitment Strategies and established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
The position focuses on identifying and fostering partnerships with key institutions, agents, government bodies, and other stakeholders both within and outside the University. It aims to support the implementation of the institution's internationalization strategic goals while providing a welcoming and efficient service to international students and visitors.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the strategic planning and operational management of the University’s promotional and student recruitment initiatives in South and South East Asia, contributing to the enhancement of overall institutional targets.
Select, train, and manage the performance of University representatives across the South and South East Asia, ensuring collaboration with high-performing agents.
Develop and maintain relationships with key government ministries, agencies, and sponsorship bodies in-country, negotiating financial packages and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
Provide effective management support to in-country teams.
Represent the University at educational fairs and recruitment events, delivering presentations and coordinating visits from University staff to the assigned region, followed by comprehensive reporting.
Identify and establish partnerships for the international summer school, focusing on in-demand courses.
Collaborate with colleagues in External Relations to enhance the service and information provided to international applicants, implementing tailored strategies to increase offer acceptance rates.
Assist the IRM in managing the recruitment budget for the designated region.
Conduct strategic statistical and trend analysis related to market responsibilities, recommending policy changes as necessary.
Advise key staff on the development of international recruitment strategies through regular meetings and horizon scanning for new program opportunities.
Coordinate visits from key partners and stakeholders in collaboration with the Head of International Recruitment and other relevant managers.
Act as a deputy for the International Recruitment Manager when required.
Represent the University in professional groups, sector-wide forums, and committees as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team.
Essential:
- A1 Degree level education or equivalent professional qualification or relevant experience.
- A2 Current knowledge of Higher Education systems.
- A3 Understanding of the UK Higher Education system and application processes.
- A4 Awareness of the broader external market environment.
Desirable:
- B1 Familiarity with the University of Glasgow.
- B2 Knowledge of institutional and College strategic priorities.
- B3 In-depth understanding of the University’s degree programs and research strengths.

The salary for this position will be Grade 7, ranging from £39,347 to £44,263 per annum. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) and is open-ended. Relocation assistance may be provided where applicable.
