Job Title: Academic Coach

Join our team as an Academic Coach at Big Creative Academy, a specialist creative arts college for 16-19 year olds. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to support students with specific needs and provide a high-quality learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work under the guidance of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator & Inclusion Manager to develop and deliver individual education programmes for students with specific needs.
  • Assist in the production of teaching materials and support the teacher in the management of students and the classroom.
  • Help plan and organize learning activities for students being supported and promote their inclusion within the college.
  • Collate and prepare students' information for assessments and inspections, and design leaflets/handouts on students' general areas of need.
  • Update spreadsheets and input data when necessary, and ensure compliance with Data Protection legislation and confidentiality.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Grade C or above in maths and English or equivalent.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office Suite and developing and delivering individual education programmes for students with specific needs.
  • Experience of working with students with physical disabilities and training in moving and handling.
  • Experience of using SIMS or similar database.
