About the Role

We are partnering with a Charity in the East of England to recruit Housing Support Workers on a temporary to permanent or permanent basis across various locations in Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.

The positions are available to start immediately, with the potential to become permanent after a successful temporary period. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £15.40 via an Umbrella company, and the salary for the permanent role is £24,382.80.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular visits to a caseload of around 9 clients with complex needs, including homelessness, substance misuse, and mental health.
  • Perform risk assessments, including health and safety and fire risk checks.
  • Assist clients with Housing and welfare benefit claims and application processes.
  • Provide guidance and signpost clients to external support agencies.
  • Develop and monitor support programs to promote independence and build trusting relationships with clients.
Requirements
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge of the benefits system, including Housing Benefits.
  • Ability to work within boundaries, maintaining confidentiality.
Skills and Expertise
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
