Payroll Clerk
Your new company, Hays Accountancy & Finance, is supporting a Norwich-based organisation in their search for an experienced payroll professional to join their newly created payroll team.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in working with the Payroll Senior and Payroll Manager in setting up new payroll policies and processes as the team brings payroll back in-house.
As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for supporting the payroll team in setting up new starters and closing payroll files for any leavers or making amendments to current workers.
The organisation runs multiple monthly payrolls, so you will check the payroll data prior to payment, which will include P45's, P46 forms, bank details, and prepare salary deductions regarding NI, SSP, SMP, salary sacrifice, attachment of earnings, allowances, expenses/overtime, etc.
You will also be responsible for checking any pre-employment checks with the HR teams and assisting managers with any payroll queries and producing payroll reports.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Experience of processing a payroll
- Awareness of payroll legislation, including annual PAYE legislation, statutory regulations, and HMRC reporting
As this is a busy payroll department, you will be a highly organised and confident person who has a passion for payroll.
Any experience of a payroll system upgrade would be an advantage but not essential.
What you'll get in return:
- A competitive salary of circa £25,000 - £27,000 depending on experience
- Flexible hybrid working
- An excellent benefits package
- Professional training in payroll - CIPP Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals
