Associate Director, Advancement

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our team in Glasgow, working on complex and concurrent projects in the construction sector.
About the RoleAs an Associate Director, you will be responsible for managing a team of Delay Analysts and delivering expert delay and forensic planning services to clients. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and disputes, and contribute to expert report writing.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of Delay Analysts on complex and concurrent projects
- Deliver expert delay and forensic planning services to clients
- Contribute to expert report writing
- Network and win work, developing relationships with construction industry solicitors and influential contacts
- Critically analyse project and major programme performance, identifying root causes of distress
- Lead development of contract and commercial strategy to recover performance of distressed projects or major programmes
- Critically analyse client claims and/or disputes, providing strategic advice
- Provide effective stakeholder management, chairing meetings with clients and other advisors
- Coach and train delay analysis team, encouraging professional progression
- Act as an ambassador for the consultancy, championing Contract Services in the industry
- 10+ years of experience in delay, planning, and related construction and engineering industry experience
- Experience of working on live construction or engineering projects is highly desirable
- Significant recent exposure to delay-related work at both a hands-on and managerial level
- Direct experience in Forensic Planning
- Some knowledge of the Scottish legal market
- Strong working knowledge of common planning software, such as Primavera and Asta PowerProject
- Experience of managing programmes, using planning software and delay analysis techniques
- Have managed a team of delay analysts working on a number of concurrent cases
- Experience of contributing sections to expert report writing
- Have worked towards or are ready to work towards writing your own expert reports
- Have had extensive experience of delivering expert delay and forensic planning services to satisfied clients
- Experience in developing and pursuing claims up or down the supply-chain
- Have built up a profile with both construction industry solicitors and influential contacts within construction building and civil engineering contractors
- Degree level education in a construction-related field or similar equivalent qualification is desired
