Job Title: Associate Director, Advancement

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Director to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in their Glasgow office. The hiring company is one of the largest and most reputable consultancies in the UK, with a strong presence in the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Delay Analysts on complex and concurrent projects
  • Contribute sections to expert report writing and work towards writing own expert reports
  • Deliver expert delay and forensic planning services in line with client briefs
  • Network and win work, developing relationships with construction industry solicitors and influential contacts
  • Critically analyse project and major programme performance, identifying root causes of distress
  • Lead development of contract and commercial strategy to recover performance of distressed projects
  • Provide strategic advice on client claims and disputes
  • Manage stakeholders and chair meetings as necessary
  • Coach and train delay analysis team, encouraging professional progression
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in delay, planning, and related construction and engineering industry experience
  • Experience of working on live construction or engineering projects
  • Significant recent exposure to delay-related work at hands-on and managerial levels
  • Direct experience in forensic planning
  • Knowledge of the Scottish legal market
  • Experience of managing programmes, using planning software, and delay analysis techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of common planning software
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
  • Degree-level education in a construction-related field or similar equivalent qualification
