KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute a rigorous schedule of planned preventive maintenance for all company machinery and equipment, regularly updating as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including troubleshooting, problem-solving, and minor repairs to minimize downtime.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of maintenance logs and schedules to comply with health and safety regulations and ISO standards.- Coordinate with external contractors as needed and assist them on-site.
- Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts for commonly used components.
- Develop and update technical documentation for plant and equipment in collaboration with suppliers and operators.- Conduct regular health and safety inspections, addressing issues promptly and reporting unsafe practices to the relevant supervisor.
- Carry out minor mechanical and electrical repairs to facilities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Modify workspaces and equipment setups as required.- Follow up on action items from the Health & Safety Improvement Log within agreed timelines.
- Adhere to quality procedures related to maintenance, including calibration of measuring instruments.- Provide minor troubleshooting and maintenance for office equipment as needed.
- Review and suggest improvements for processes and procedures in your area of responsibility.
- Communicate changes in processes to relevant parties to ensure proper follow-up and training.
- Report all major breakdowns and significant repair needs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to clarify technical details and resolve issues.- Travel to other business sites for training and collaboration as required.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties or projects as assigned by management.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Mechatronics (including apprenticeship training).
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment, with skills in machinery repair and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good judgment and common sense.
- Capacity to plan and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation if necessary.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Flexibility in working hours and availability for overtime.
- Interest in machinery and problem-solving.
- Good health and attendance record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ, ONC, OND, Engineering).
- At least 2 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience with pneumatic systems and sewing machines.
- Familiarity with cutting and pressing machinery.
- Proficient in computer applications, including databases and MS Office.
