Position: Special Educational Needs Support Assistant

Salary Range: £95.68 per day

Location: Weymouth

About the Role:
Are you dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of young learners? GSL Education is seeking a committed Special Educational Needs Support Assistant to contribute positively to a local secondary school environment. In this role, you will be instrumental in nurturing a supportive atmosphere that encourages positive behaviour among students.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist educators in executing effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Provide individualized support to students facing behavioural challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other specialists to develop personalized intervention strategies.
  • Promote the overall welfare of students and help cultivate a constructive school culture.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational context.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management approaches and their practical application in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A compassionate and patient demeanor when assisting students with varied needs.
  • Relevant educational or psychological qualifications are a plus.

Requirements to Work with GSL Education:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An updated CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
  • A DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
