Private Debt Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Private Debt Associate to join our team at Flynn and Chase, a leading European Private Equity firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the investment process, from deal origination to execution and ongoing portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of private debt investment opportunities across Europe, assessing risk profiles, creditworthiness, and return potential.
  • Create and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate potential debt transactions, perform stress tests, and assess cash flow projections to inform investment decisions.
  • Lead and participate in financial, legal, and operational due diligence on potential investment opportunities, ensuring all risks and returns are fully analyzed.
  • Support the negotiation and structuring of private debt deals, including liaising with legal advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction completion.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of existing private debt investments, providing regular updates on key financial and operational metrics, and recommending strategies to optimize returns.
  • Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports for the Investment Committee, outlining key deal rationales, risks, and upside potential.
  • Conduct ongoing research and analysis of the European private debt market, as well as broader industry trends and economic conditions, to identify new investment opportunities.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in Private Debt, Leveraged Finance, Private Credit, or a related field.
  • Strong financial modelling and credit analysis skills, with a deep understanding of private debt structures and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is required.
  • Postgraduate qualifications (such as CFA, ACA, or similar) are advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in German or French is beneficial, given the firm's expansion into key European markets.
