Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Career Teachers. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role:
  • Support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and therapy teams to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, as well as providing one-to-one support to students.
  • Participate in activities that promote social, emotional, and behavioral development, such as PECS, Makaton, and manual handling.
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of adaptability, motivation, and initiative in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Training in PECS, Makaton, manual handling, and hoisting (desired but not essential).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with students, teachers, and parents.
