Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join TVS Supply Chain Solutions as a Technical Business Analyst on one of our product teams. Our Business Analysts are responsible for supporting the Product Owners and wider Product teams on ensuring we have identified, documented, and converted customer requirements into clear, well-defined, testable work items.

As a Business Analyst, you will also be responsible for the technical documentation for system processes, specifications, and configuration management for a product team.

The Business Analyst will work with the IT Service Management team to ensure a seamless handover is provided to the IT Service Management team to enable continued support for changes in the products, which will include providing the relevant support documentation, monitoring, and troubleshooting guides. As a part of this, you will provide induction/overview training to users as and when required.

For large IT programmes, the Business Analyst will work with the wider IT programme team, product owners, and developers to ensure cross-functional team deliveries and well-defined and planned in a coherent way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Requirements Management: Identify and document technical/system requirements.
  • Documentation and Configuration Management: Ensure complete and up-to-date documentation of functional spec and process for product features.
  • User Support and Training: Ensure user guides are complete and up-to-date for product support teams.
  • Change Management: Ensure correct configuration management is carried out and documented for product changes.
  • Client Onboarding: Ensure new client onboarding is successful with efficient deployment of products, integration services, and setting configuration.
  • Impact Analysis: Carry out impact analysis for changes, especially where these changes span multiple products.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate across teams to ensure joined-up delivery.
  • Integration and Third-Party Requirements: Capturing, documenting, and communicating integration/third-party requirements.
  • Technical Design and Development: Liaise with Software Developers during technical design development.
  • System Testing and Quality Assurance: Support Software QA team in the development of System Test Specifications and coordination of user test activity based on the functional specifications and business scenarios.
  • Software Testing: Where necessary, perform and support others in performing software testing.
  • Process and Operational Support: Provide process and operational support documentation.
  • Project Delivery: Deliver project activities in line with agreed time scales, ensuring any changes to approved timing are formally agreed with Manager/Project Leader and Business Owners.
  • Problem Resolution: Assist the support team in fault finding and problem resolution with existing IT Systems.
Requirements and Skills
  • Self-Starter: Self-starter, able to work on activities with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process analysis skills.
  • Project Management Knowledge: Excellent working knowledge of basic project management methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional oral and written communicator, able to talk to technical and non-technical colleagues and clients.
  • Agile Project Experience: Experience of working on agile IT projects.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Self-driven, confident to lead and to listen to others.
  • Project Management: Manage and track multiple projects across teams and third parties.

Desirable:

  • Supply Chain Application Systems: Understanding of supply chain application systems and business processes.
  • BPMN Knowledge: Working knowledge of BPMN.

Where we are:

Our head office is based at a purpose-built, state-of-the-art distribution facility on Buckshaw Village in Chorley with excellent transport links to the M61 and M6 plus a mainline train station less than a mile away. The office has on-site parking, shower facilities for those who brave the elements on a bike or on foot, and a subsidised canteen.

We are currently operating on a hybrid working basis, there will however be a period of time at the start of your employment spent fully working in our office, familiarising yourself with our systems and processes.
