Job Title: Financial Accountant

Environmental Standards Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our Corporate Services and Communications team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present financial reports to the ESS Board, Audit and Risk Committee, and Scottish Government.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process and ensure accurate forecasting and financial planning.
  • Lead on the implementation of the new Oracle finance system and ensure a smooth transition from the current SEAS system.
  • Collaborate with the Business and Finance Manager and Business Support Officers to ensure effective financial management and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Professionally qualified accountant with up-to-date CPD.
  • Excellent technical accounting skills and experience in compiling year-end financial accounts for external audit.
  • Strong financial modelling skills using Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
