What We're Looking For

We're seeking an enthusiastic and committed team member who can support students in lessons, removing barriers to learning and ensuring they make good progress. You'll ideally have some classroom-based experience, but applications will be considered from those looking to change career or start a career in education. What the School Offers

Teaching Assistants at Bridlington School are allocated to faculties, enabling them to be fully conversant with the curriculum area in which they support. This fosters a collaborative approach across the team as information is shared between TAs supporting the same students. It also enables you to be involved in wider administrative support of the department and the running of subject-specific extra-curricular activities.

You'll have access to a host of CPD and training opportunities, both internal and external, with the option to take on additional responsibilities in areas of interest. At Bridlington School, we have a genuine drive to support staff wellbeing through a number of workload reduction measures. Many of our Teaching Assistants gain progression within the school.

The SEND team is led by the SEND Manager, SENDCO, and Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion), who are all passionate about driving the team and progress forward. Communication and an understanding of updates/changes is key. You'll attend weekly meetings with the SEND Manager and SENDCO and will also be involved in Team Development within your subject area to keep up-to-date throughout the year.

Our TAs have a range of backgrounds - some have come from teaching careers and have looked to step into direct SEN support, some are experienced TAs, and some have come from a whole different career change. The diversity of the team is a real strength.
