Personal Care Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Caregiver to join our team at Central Health Newfoundland. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to patients and residents who require assistance with daily living activities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personalized care and support to patients and residents, including assistance with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, residents, and their families, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support, including input to care plans and participation in care conferences.
- Assist with escorting patients and residents to outside appointments and activities, promoting independence and socialization.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
- Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
- Graduation from a personal care attendant program approved by Central Health.
- Current BLS certification.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to patients and residents with varying levels of need. The role may involve working in awkward or cramped positions, and may require lifting, bending, and pushing/pulling with medium force. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on providing exceptional care and support to patients and residents.
