Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges in a primary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with SEMH challenges, promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being.
- Implement behavior management strategies to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans.
- Establish positive relationships with students, earning their trust and respect.
- Assist in the implementation of behavior support plans and IEPs.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEMH challenges in an educational or similar setting.
- A confident and resilient personality with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school community.
- A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
