Job Title: Premises Manager/Site Manager

TEEM Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Premises Manager/Site Manager to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our school premises and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor the routine maintenance of the site, including prioritizing and resolving issues raised by staff, organizing minor structural repairs and decorative work, and ensuring that fixtures, fittings, and furniture are in good condition.
  • Ensure the servicing of equipment such as heating, lighting, air-conditioning, and alarm systems is completed on a regular basis and complies with legislation.
  • Supervise and monitor the operation of the cleaning and grounds maintenance, liaising with the School Business Manager.
  • Employ contractors for works that cannot be done in-house, following the correct tendering process.
  • Ensure rooms and areas are set up as required for assemblies, exams, or other events.
  • Oversee any new building and refurbishment programmes, acting as a point of liaison between contractors and school.
  • Provide data to assist the School Business Manager in preparing bids to external bodies for additional funding for capital projects.
  • Keep up to date with legislation and best practice in premises management.
  • Liaise with external contractors to ensure they are aware of school policies.
Health and Safety:
  • Act as Chief Fire Warden and take a lead in fire drills and fire safety planning.
  • Work with the School Business Manager to be responsible for Health and Safety within the school, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and review the Trust's Health and Safety policy, including all Risk Assessment procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to all staff on Health and Safety matters.
  • Ensure Fire and Water safety checks are carried out regularly and accurate records are kept.
  • Manage equipment and its maintenance, coordinating annual risk assessments and ensuring any necessary follow-up is undertaken.
  • Ensure the school adheres to COSHH guidelines.
