Energy and Sustainability Manager

Trevett Project Services is seeking an experienced Energy and Sustainability Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Building Services division, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Public Sector clients to deliver and validate energy, carbon, and cost reductions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement new energy-related opportunities to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
  2. Carry out energy-related tasks to ensure service provision and compliance with energy-related legislation.
  3. Motivate and train staff in energy management best practices.
  4. Maintain a thorough understanding of corporate energy strategy, legal, and technical issues affecting client premises.
  5. Assist clients to measure, monitor, and report on energy consumption and carbon emissions.
  6. Develop and advise on energy strategy/solutions, developing these into working projects that meet client objectives and best practices.
  7. Identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions within clients' property portfolios.
  8. Calculate potential savings in terms of kWh, CO2, and cost.
  9. Deliver on these opportunities and normalize and verify savings post-implementation.
  10. Assist clients to meet their increasingly challenging compliance requirements.
  11. Support wider energy management objectives, for example, through energy procurement.
  12. Provide full feasibility studies of costed initiatives/projects to reduce energy usage.
  13. Work with and support the Head of Projects, ensuring that projects are as energy-efficient as financially possible.
  14. Keep abreast of Energy Market developments and changes, ensuring that the client complies with all Energy-related Legislation.
  15. Train Energy Engineers and manage their activity, ensuring their expedient use.
Core Competencies:
  1. Extensive working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and control theory.
  2. Extensive knowledge of the principal techniques and technologies supporting the efficient use of energy.
  3. Competency in current benchmark techniques and statistical analysis.
  4. Understanding of the principles behind HVAC, refrigeration, and Lighting operation and system design/integration.
  5. Ability to prepare fully costed energy efficiency proposals and reports.
  6. Capacity to carry out full energy surveys and feasibility studies of energy technologies.
Ideal Qualifications:
  1. Degree in energy and sustainability, engineering, or building services.
  2. Specific energy efficiency/low carbon qualifications are desirable.
  3. Relevant professional membership, e.g., CIBSE, Energy Institute.
Project Management:
  1. Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex work-streams and clients, and manage budget.
