About the Position:

Teaching Personnel is in search of a passionate and motivating Art Teacher for this dynamic secondary institution. This supply teaching role presents the chance to engage with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities at Key Stage 5 for qualified candidates. The position involves delivering captivating lessons across diverse artistic mediums, nurturing creativity, and instilling a love for the arts. Proficiency in teaching Design Technology would be an additional asset. The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of dedicated subject experts in a progressive and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Exceptional Art Education: Design and implement engaging and innovative lessons in art and design across KS3 and KS4, with potential involvement at KS5.
  • Adaptability: Quickly adjust to various classroom settings and teaching resources, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Classroom Management: Ensure a safe and effective learning environment by upholding discipline and managing student behaviour.
  • Student Support: Identify and address individual student needs, adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learning abilities and backgrounds.
  • Assessment: Assess and provide constructive feedback on students' work and progress.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with school staff, including teaching assistants and fellow educators, to create a cohesive educational experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Candidates must possess QTS or an equivalent qualification recognized in the UK.
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience in a secondary school environment, particularly in art and design, is highly desirable. Experience in Design Technology is a plus.
  • Subject Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and skills in teaching various art forms and techniques.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work across different educational institutions, sometimes on short notice.
  • DBS Clearance: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, or readiness to undergo one.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Passion for Art: A genuine enthusiasm for inspiring and educating young individuals in the visual arts.
