Job Summary

Moray Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with complex health needs to live independently in their own tenancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the individual in developing their independent living skills, including household tasks, budgeting, and social skills.
  • Assist the individual in managing their daily routine, including meal preparation and planning.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to the individual, promoting their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and services to ensure the highest level of care and support.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records of the individual's progress and needs.

Requirements

  • Experience working with adults with complex health needs and learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the individual and their support network.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of the individual.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
