About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Waste Water Process Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our process engineering team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our cities and environments.

As a Principal Waste Water Process Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team to undertake technical design work, preparing briefs and scopes of work, and successfully managing time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes. You will work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions and adhere to quality assurance standards in design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
  • Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
Requirements
  • Chartered Chemical / Process Engineer (preferably IChemE or CIWEM).
  • Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
  • Fundamental understanding and experience of integrated waste-water and bioresources treatment process.
  • Design and/or operational experience of main process unit operations: primary / secondary / tertiary treatment, bioresource treatment and disposal, odour and energy management.
  • Experience of process safety techniques (HAZOP / DSEAR), capital and operational costs assessments, whole life carbon assessments as well as knowledge of UK environmental regulations.
  • Awareness of process modelling techniques and software, e.g. BioWIn, SUMO.
