Job Title:
Health and Safety Officer/Hybrid Advisor

Company Overview:

Julius Rutherfoord & Co is a leading B2B contract cleaning company based in London, specialising in providing high-quality cleaning services to commercial facilities.

Our clients include Freshfields, the QEII Centre, and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

As part of your role, you will work with our Mobilisation and Project Manager to provide project support and drive business improvement projects.

You will also ensure H&S and maintenance compliance at our Head Office.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve H&S strategies, policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.
  2. Interface with key internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, regulators, enforcement agencies, and suppliers.
  3. Monitor emerging health and safety and sustainability-related legal compliance, as well as Government and industry best practice.
  4. Apply knowledge and drive best practice to meet Health & Safety standards.
  5. Ensure the Company's H&S policies and procedures are updated and relevant to current legislation.
  6. Manage the H&S aspects of keeping our Head Office maintained, including emergency procedures and first aid requirements.
  7. Work closely with the Quality, Sustainability & Environment Manager to promote understanding of company objectives for Environmental and Health and Safety aspects.
  8. Identify H&S training requirements.
  9. Manage the recording and monitoring of all 'near-miss' and 'accident' reports, and any follow-up investigations that are required and preventative measures are put in place.
  10. Manage personal and public liability claims, following up with insurers and driving the company campaign for all incidents to be reported.

Requirements:

3-5 years practical Health & Safety experience

Experience leading projects

Experienced at completing risk assessments, training, and health and safety audits

NEBOSH certificate or currently working towards it

Qualification in risk management, safety management, or a related discipline is preferable
