We are seeking a Pension Onboarding Specialist to enhance our Customer Operations team. In this capacity, you will:

  • Collaborate effectively with third-party administrators to gain their support and implement enhancements to systems, processes, and technology as necessary.
  • Utilize your expertise and insights regarding the onboarding of new clients with PIC and the implications for our policyholders.
  • Drive positive business outcomes related to capital, profitability, brand reputation, and consistently favorable results for our policyholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Pension Services in delivering exceptional service to clients and policyholders.
  • Work alongside the PIC Transition Manager to ensure successful onboarding for PIC and Scheme Trustees.
  • Lead the onboarding of new schemes into the PIC operational framework, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of scheme benefits, data suitability for administration and actuarial valuation, and thorough testing of payroll and pension increase processes.
  • Conduct detailed analyses to verify data integrity and compliance with PIC standards, leading data reconciliation and verification efforts, as well as overseeing payroll and pension increase testing.
  • Collaborate with the Outsourced Administration Team and Customer Experience Team to ensure operational readiness for successful onboarding, including automation of calculations, website launches, communications, and all necessary documentation for a smooth go-live.
  • Engage with internal actuaries to ensure valuation data requirements are well understood and documented, addressing any data issues as needed.
  • Facilitate meetings and calls with outsourced administrators to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Prepare management information for internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies within PIC's administration model.
  • Ensure that projects meet established milestones and deliverables while adhering to quality standards.
  • Complete internal projects related to the onboarding of new business into the PIC framework.
  • Understand and operate within Pension Corporation's guidelines on Consumer Duty.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in pensions.
  • Background in defined benefit pension scheme onboarding.
  • Experience with complex data analysis.
  • APMI qualification or a willingness to pursue it.
  • Experience in a corporate or consulting environment.

Knowledge:

  • Strong technical understanding of defined benefit pension schemes.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of pension buy-ins, buy-outs, and transition processes.

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in persuasion and influence, both directly and indirectly.
  • Ability to manage work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Capability to work within established procedures as recommended by functional teams.
  • Effective collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Word.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel with a strong desire to enhance skills.
