Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled individual to join the team responsible for the Radiopharmacy service at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Senior Quality Assurance Officer will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulations and advancing clinical expertise in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

We are looking for someone with experience in radiopharmacy and technical services, ideally in a Quality Assurance environment, to lead our Radiopharmacy team.

  • The Senior Quality Assurance Officer will be part of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control team based at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Radiopharmacy Pharmaceutical Quality System, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Organizing and maintaining the Quality Control program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Providing expert advice on radiopharmaceutical preparation and use, ensuring safe and effective operation of Radiopharmacy services.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure safe and effective operation of Radiopharmacy services, promoting a culture of excellence and quality.

Job Description

  • Responsible for product release and quality control testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and implementing the Radiopharmacy training program, promoting knowledge and skills among team members.
  • Ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice standards, maintaining a high level of quality and safety.
  • Providing routine Radiopharmacy services and radiolabelling, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Acting as a Radiopharmacy Operator and liaising with manufacturers, ensuring seamless supply chain management.
  • Advising on the use of radioactive medicinal products and equipment validation, ensuring safe and effective operation of Radiopharmacy services.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Master Degree in Pharmacy or relevant field, with a strong focus on Quality Assurance and Radiopharmacy.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council or equivalent, with a strong commitment to professional development.
  • Post-graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Technology/Quality Assurance or equivalent, with a strong focus on leadership and management.

Desirable

  • Additional courses in Radiopharmacy, with a strong focus on leadership and management.
  • Experience as a releasing officer in a regulatory unit, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge in GMP and Radiopharmacy training, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
  • Experience in equipment and process validation, project management, and leadership.
