About the Role:

AJ Bell is seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to join our Risk Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our risk management framework and promoting a strong risk culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our Group Risk Management Framework
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote a risk-aware culture and provide education on risk management best practices
  • Participate in risk forums and working groups to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Support and challenge risk owners on risk assessments and provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance understanding of risk management and compliance
  • Review and test controls to ensure their effectiveness in mitigating risks
  • Maintain the risk register and oversee the risk incident process to ensure timely and effective risk management
  • Assist in risk reporting and thematic risk reviews to identify areas for improvement
  • Provide input into risk assessment processes and contribute to the development of our ESG risk management framework

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience in UK-regulated Financial Services, with a strong background in risk management and compliance
  • At least 3 years' experience in a risk role, with a proven track record of implementing risk management frameworks and promoting a risk-aware culture
  • Degree and/or professional qualifications in a relevant field, such as risk management, finance, or law
  • Experience in risk framework implementation and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate risk-related information effectively
  • Commercial awareness and ability to take appropriate risks, with a strong understanding of the financial services industry
  • Proficiency in MS Office and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks and risk management best practices
  • Effective planning and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Desirable experience in ICAAP/ICARA and control assurance, with a strong understanding of risk management methodologies
