Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Rotating Equipment Systems Engineer to engage in comprehensive rotor dynamic and control system evaluations on magnetic bearing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough rotor dynamic and control system assessments on magnetic bearing systems.
  • Assist in mechanical and electromagnetic design processes, encompassing stress analysis, thermal analysis, and electromagnetic analysis.
  • Utilize expertise in SolidWorks and SW Simulator to execute FEA analyses and support the verification of engineering drawings.
  • Act as a liaison between rotor dynamic and control system design and analysis, ensuring effective implementation into controllers and overseeing tuning and commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with the internal manufacturing team to ensure the successful realization of bearing system designs.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel to support project requirements (up to 10%).

Qualifications:

  • A Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in rotor dynamics or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of engineering experience in mechanical engineering disciplines related to magnetic bearing systems.
  • Proficient in XCEL, SolidWorks, and FEA software.
  • Strong academic foundation in mechanical design, stress analysis, thermal analysis, dynamics, electromagnetics, electronics, instrumentation, signal processing, materials, and control systems.
  • Experience in reviewing detailed mechanical drawings and specifying dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with a focus on goal orientation and the ability to identify high-priority tasks.
