Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will support the development and delivery of work packages for our nuclear, marine, and O&G clients based in our Sunderland office. This role offers hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project tasks: Manage and plan projects for a team of engineers while coordinating with project management facilities.
  • Produce engineering solutions: Deliver high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of topics and activities.
  • Communicate progress: Provide feedback on technical development and project delivery to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
  • Mentor: Offer technical guidance and support to team members, especially junior or graduate engineers.
  • Manage time: Efficiently manage your time to meet agreed deadlines, target costs, and quality standards with minimal supervision.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering.
  • Proficient with CAD software: Skilled in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
  • Strong mathematical skills: Experienced with MathCAD software.
  • Skilled in producing technical reports: Expertise in creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Understanding of welding, machining, etc.
  • Experienced with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture.
