Role Overview
What will your responsibilities entail?
We are looking for a skilled professional to become part of our Corporate Tax team, which is responsible for tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse clientele. Your primary role will involve managing a portfolio of clients while overseeing junior staff as needed. You will also support Directors and Partners in client engagements and contribute to the management of the team, actively seeking opportunities to participate in special assignments and advisory projects.
As a Senior Corporate Tax Consultant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a diverse portfolio of businesses, including owner-managed businesses, small to medium enterprises, and larger corporations.
- Conducting corporate tax compliance, provisioning, and advisory work for your assigned portfolio.
- Engaging in various business tax matters, including ad-hoc advisory, international tax issues, and R&D tax credits, with a foundational understanding of VAT and employment tax.
- Assisting with transactional and due diligence projects.
- Delivering exceptional client service and maintaining regular communication with client teams.
- Collaborating with Partners and demonstrating effective management skills.
- Conducting performance appraisals and monitoring staff development.
- Providing on-the-job training for junior staff on a one-on-one basis.
- Ensuring adherence to Evelyn Partners' procedures, considering relevant guidance from professional institutes and HMRC.
- Meeting departmental KPIs related to billing and recovery targets.
- Participating in internal meetings, seminars, and courses for continuous learning.
- Maintaining awareness of other firm capabilities to encourage cross-referrals.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Extensive corporate tax experience gained within professional services or industry.
- A technically proficient tax advisor capable of handling complex client engagements.
- Proven experience in managing both clients and team members.
- A desire to develop business development skills to contribute to the firm's growth.
Professional Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) and/or tax advisor (CTA).
