About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our innovative Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Waltham Forest. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people by providing early interventions and support within educational settings.

Your Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage a caseload of CYP with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, delivering evidence-based CBT interventions.
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to other MHST practitioners.
  • Collaborate closely with schools, families, and other professionals to develop comprehensive support plans for each child.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of the MHST program.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions and interventions.

About You

You are a highly motivated and compassionate individual with a strong commitment to improving the mental health and well-being of children and young people. You possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a graduate training (nursing, social work, occupational therapy) or equivalent substantial CAMHS/EWMHS clinical experience.
  • 2 years post-qualification experience as an EMHP/CWP.
  • Experience delivering CBT interventions to CYP and their families.
  • Awareness of MHST remit.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Eligibility for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (HCPC, NMC).
  • Formal CBT training (CYP-IAPT).
  • Experience working with schools to support CYP emotional well-being needs.
  • Experience running therapy groups and/or training events.
