Qualifications Required

Candidates applying for the Early Years Practitioner - qualified position should possess a recognized qualification in Childcare and Education (e.g., HNC/NNEB/SVQ 3) and will be compensated on grade HC.

Unqualified candidates applying for the Early Years Practitioner - unqualified position will need to pursue one of the aforementioned qualifications within an agreed timeframe and will also be compensated on grade HC.

The Early Years Practitioner must hold relevant registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or agree to apply for registration as a practitioner. Upon commencement of employment, the Early Years Practitioner should register with the SSSC. If already registered and changing employers to Highland Council, they must notify the SSSC of any changes.

Additional qualifications in Food Handling and First Aid would be beneficial.
