About the Role

LAW Absolute is working with a local authority in South London to fill a Childcare Advocate Solicitor position on a locum basis for an initial period of 6-12 months.

The successful candidate will join the council's advocacy unit and work alongside a team of expert Advocates, providing high-level advice and assistance to the legal department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate on a range of cases, including non-accidental injury, child sex abuse, and court of appeal cases.
  • Work with the Principal Lawyer to reduce expenditure on Counsel.
  • Support the team in delivering a high-quality service.

About You:

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual with previous childcare advocacy experience. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for their work and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service.

Candidates from both the public and private sectors are encouraged to apply, as the council's current staff is drawn from both sectors.

A current practising certificate is required to be considered for the role.
