Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented accounts assistant to support our team in various accounting tasks, including data entry, bank reconciliations, bookkeeping, and VAT returns. The ideal candidate will have experience in most of the listed responsibilities and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities- Data Entry: Accurate entry of client information using Visual Transaction, Sage Online, and QuickBooks Online.
- Bank Reconciliations: Manual and software-based reconciliations of client bank statements.
- Bookkeeping: General bookkeeping tasks, including preparation and submission of client accounts.
- VAT Returns: Preparation, checking, and submission of client VAT returns using software.
- Payroll Administration: Processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for clients using MoneySoft.
- Software Maintenance: Maintenance of the practice software and CRM system.
- Client Communication: Speaking to clients by telephone and in person.
- Administrative Tasks: General administrative duties, including filing and greeting clients.
- Experience in most of the listed responsibilities, ideally from working within a UK accountancy practice for at least two years.
- AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in UK payroll and data entry is essential.
