Senior Hardware Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge hardware solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop printed circuit boards with analog and digital components
  • Write firmware to support hardware development
  • Provide technical support to production and other engineering teams
  • Facilitate and participate in electronic design reviews and provide feedback
  • Develop and execute test plans for analog and digital boards
  • Debug complex problems with cards
  • Perform requirements analysis and derive system-level requirements and architecture
  • Undertake integration activities with software and hardware
  • Propose improvements in tools, processes, and techniques to support quality and innovation
  • Contribute to customer-facing meetings through document preparation, presentations, and participation
  • Estimate time and effort required for hardware and firmware activities and deliver to these estimates to ensure cost and schedule adherence
  • Review technical proposals and assist with providing accurate estimates for associated effort, costs, and risks

Requirements:

  • Design of digital and analog circuits
  • Analog simulation
  • Prior experience in embedded firmware development with C/C++, assembly languages, and code development processes with debugging, emulation, and simulation
  • Working knowledge of processor platforms such as Microchip/Atmel, Arm, Renesas, and Freescale
  • Using up-to-date serial communications like Ethernet, USB, and PCIe
  • Working knowledge of serial communication protocols such as USB, UART (Rs232, Rs484), I2C, SPI
  • Understanding of bare metal start-up of microcontrollers
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand hardware schematics
  • Experience of version control, change control, and bug tracking tools and systems
  • Experience of/exposure to best practice firmware development processes/lifecycles
  • Knowledge of AC-DC and DC-DC converters
