CNC 5-Axis Setter Operator Job Description

Omega Resource Group is seeking a skilled CNC 5-Axis Setter Operator to join our team in Northampton. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating multiple 5-axis machines to manufacture high-quality pistons for sports super/hyper car manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set and operate multiple DMG machines in the piston department.
  • Perform manual manufacturing operations, including manufacturing and modifying pistons to support internal and external engine development programs.
  • Use measuring equipment to ensure component compliance and conduct thorough quality control checks.
  • Mentor and instruct junior employees and apprentices to perform manufacturing operations.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities regarding methods, processes, and tooling.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical information.
  • Proficiency in machine code, with Heidenhain 530I and 640 preferred.
  • Ability to use Fanuc-based machines, including Hitachi, Seiki, and Matsuura.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to identify errors in NC code.
  • Basic numerical and computer skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Automotive engineering experience and background.
