CNC Grinder

Location: Northampton

Omega Resource Group is seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to work on the double day shift or the night shift and contribute to the production of high-quality engine components for super/hyper car manufacturers.

• Set and operate CNC grinding machines (Junker & Kellenburger) with training provided.
• Set and operate manual grinding machines (cylindrical & surface).
• Manufacture/modify cams, cranks to support internal/external engine development programs along with any other component that needs a grinding process.
• Use measuring equipment to ensure component compliance, (gauges, CMM's Adcole).
• Perform basic TPM on all equipment including cleaning and lubrication.
• Mentor and instruct Juniors & apprentices to perform manufacturing operations when required.
• Be active with the introduction of new equipment and process changes.
• Commit to continuous improvement and suggest improvements regarding methods, processes, and tooling.
• Fulfill any other reasonable requirement consistent with departmental objectives.
• Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
• Support the Company's compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

• Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical information.
• Knowledge of multiple grinding methods (internal/external, between centres and surface grinding).
• Experience with work holding methods.
• Conversant with machine code and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of tool setting, measuring equipment and wheel mounting/dressing.
• Numerical and computer skills.
• Effective communicator both verbally and written.
• Automotive engineering experience/background.
