Key Responsibilities:- Operations Management: Oversee all bar production activities, ensuring efficient use of resources to meet increasing customer demand. Manage production schedules and ensure that all operations run in line with the company's KPIs for quality, delivery, and cost.
- Health & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety protocols, conducting regular safety checks, and promoting a strong safety culture on-site. Manage Risk Assessments (RAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production processes, ensuring they are up to date and that staff are trained and competent in their roles.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead a skilled production team by fostering a positive working environment that encourages collaboration and personal development. Regularly assess team performance and implement development programs to build a multi-skilled workforce.
- Maintenance & Equipment Management: Work closely with the maintenance team to monitor machine performance, reduce downtime, and ensure efficient operation of all equipment. Implement systems for tracking machine downtime, repair costs, and servicing to identify areas for productivity improvements and cost savings.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement across the production department by identifying opportunities to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance. Lead and engage the team in improvement initiatives, ensuring measurable targets are set and achieved.
- Quality Control: Ensure the production process adheres to stringent quality standards. Support investigations into non-conformances and collaborate with the Quality team to resolve issues.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a production management role, strong leadership and team management skills, and a solid understanding of operational processes, Health & Safety regulations, and quality management systems. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential for driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
