About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Media Officer to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As a key member of our media and communications unit, you will play a lead role in promoting and protecting the council's reputation.

Majoring on strong management of online, social and traditional media, you will also help to lead a multi-disciplined comms team, developing and overseeing effective and creative external and internal campaigns.

About You
  • You must be educated to degree level or equivalent, with a strong understanding of journalism and a honed risk radar.
  • You should be able to build strong internal and external relationships, and influence effectively.
  • You must have excellent verbal and written comms skills, and be able to create content for different channels and audiences.
  • You should be adept at designing, delivering and evaluating comms strategies and implementation plans.
  • You must understand the role comms plays within a large, complex organisation.
  • You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
