Role Overview

What will your responsibilities include?

We are in search of a skilled professional to join our Corporate Tax team in Tunbridge Wells, which is dedicated to providing tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse range of business clients. Your primary role will involve managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing junior staff as needed. You will also support Directors and Partners in both client engagements and group management, while actively seeking opportunities to participate in special assignments and advisory projects.

As a Senior Corporate Tax Consultant, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, small to medium enterprises, and larger corporations.
  • Conducting corporate tax provisioning, compliance, and advisory work for your assigned portfolio.
  • Engaging in a variety of business tax matters, including ad-hoc advisory, international tax issues, R&D tax credits, and an understanding of VAT and employment tax considerations.
  • Assisting with transactional and due diligence projects.
  • Delivering exceptional client service and maintaining regular communication with client teams.
  • Collaborating with Partners and demonstrating strong management capabilities.
  • Conducting performance appraisals and monitoring staff performance.
  • Providing on-the-job training for junior staff on a one-to-one basis.
  • Ensuring adherence to Evelyn Partners' procedures, considering relevant institute and HMRC guidelines.
  • Meeting departmental KPIs related to billing and recovery targets.
  • Participating in internal meetings, seminars, and courses.
  • Maintaining an acute awareness of the firm's other services to encourage cross-referrals.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive corporate tax experience acquired within the profession or industry.
  • A technically proficient tax advisor capable of handling complex client assignments.
  • Proven experience in managing both clients and team members.
  • A desire to enhance business development skills to contribute to the firm's growth.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) and/or tax advisor (CTA).
