This exciting opportunity is part of the Dental Core Training 2 programme, offering the chance to broaden knowledge and experience within the dental profession. As a Dental Core Trainee, you will work in a large multidisciplinary community dental team, alongside experienced clinicians, including specialists and consultants.
Key Responsibilities- Manage patients referred from primary care general dental practices and other professionals.
- Work with vulnerable patients in the community.
- Gain experience in specialist patient pathways, such as sedation and general anaesthetic.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family, providing primary, secondary, and community health and wellbeing services to around 450,000 people. Requirements- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent dental qualification.
- Registration with the General Dental Council.
- Evidence of completion of a UK Dental Core Training Year 1 programme or equivalent by the time of post commencement.
- At least 24 months Whole Time Equivalent (WTE) postgraduate experience to the scope of a dentist by time of post commencement.
- Eligible to join the Dental Performers List (Wales).
- Experience of clinical governance, including clinical audit or significant event analysis.
As a Dental Core Trainee, you will gain valuable experience in working in community dental services, providing domiciliary care throughout the CTM and C&V footprints. You will also have access to up to 30 days of study leave and up to 6 common mandatory structured study days, provided by Health Education Improvement Wales.
