Cardiff, Cardiff, United Kingdom Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Full time

About this Opportunity

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, part of the NHS Wales family, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join its Dental Core Training 2 programme.

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to broaden knowledge and experience within the dental profession, with a focus on working in Community Dental Services. As a key member of the team, you will provide domiciliary care throughout the CTM and C&V footprints, requiring a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

The post holder will gain valuable experience working alongside experienced clinicians, including specialists and consultants, in a large multidisciplinary community dental team. Key responsibilities include managing patients referred from primary care general dental practices and other professionals, working with vulnerable patients in the community, and gaining experience in specialist patient pathways such as sedation and general anaesthetic.

We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment, where every member of the team feels valued and empowered to succeed. With a strong emphasis on continuous learning and development, we offer a range of training and support opportunities to help you achieve your full potential.

This role is not suitable for temporary registrants, and the successful candidate will be required to have completed a UK Dental Core Training Year 1 programme or equivalent by the time of post commencement. In addition, they must possess at least 24 months Whole Time Equivalent (WTE) postgraduate experience to the scope of a dentist and be eligible to join the Dental Performers List (Wales).

As a proud local employer, we are committed to making a positive impact on our communities. We believe that everyone deserves high-quality healthcare, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our staff are our lifeblood, and we strive to create an environment that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive.

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent dental qualification
  • Registration with the General Dental Council
  • Evidence of completion of a UK Dental Core Training Year 1 programme or equivalent by the time of post commencement

  • Eligible to join the Dental Performers List (Wales)

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is £35,000-£40,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
