As an Emotional and Behavioural Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance to students facing emotional and behavioural challenges. This position is based in a specialized educational environment designed for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
- Offering tailored support to students experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them to navigate their feelings and actions.
- Conducting individual and small group mentoring sessions aimed at enhancing students' social and emotional competencies.
- Working collaboratively with educators and other professionals to develop personalized support plans for each student.
- Tracking student progress and maintaining open communication with parents and guardians regarding their development.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Relevant qualifications or experience in fields such as counselling, social work, or psychology.
- A background in working with children and young individuals who face emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Understanding of SEMH principles and effective strategies for addressing challenging behaviours.
