DK Recruitment is currently seeking a Lead Marine Architect to collaborate with our client in the marine sector, specializing in complex through-life architectural services.

The Major Infrastructure Projects Directorate is responsible for delivering significant new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects to support ship and submarine sustainment programs.

As a Lead Marine Architect, you will engage with multi-disciplinary infrastructure system designs to ensure comprehensive sustainment capabilities.

Your expertise in facility enhancement and architectural design will be crucial in managing and reviewing design packages from sub-consultants, as well as collaborating with users and stakeholders to guarantee that the integrated facility meets sustainment requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the architectural components of dock facility upgrades, ensuring technical performance and providing expert advice on architectural matters.
  • Deliver technical design guidance and ensure the integration of architectural designs with other project components.
  • Ensure that design documentation aligns with the operational scope defined by the project manager and adheres to established standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Plan for effective project execution, identifying critical factors and contributing to the technical planning process.
  • Maintain effective quality management systems that comply with the client's business management protocols and technical guidelines.
  • Document processes and activities meticulously, maintaining appropriate records and applying configuration and quality control measures.
  • Ensure that all staff and contractors are aware of the hazards and risks associated with the tasks undertaken by the consulting team through effective management and communication.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience with highly complex buildings in the nuclear sector (desirable).
  • Experience with complex buildings in heavily regulated environments (essential).
  • Involvement in major civil infrastructure projects within the marine sector.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
  • Preferred Chartered Architect status, registered with RIBA.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance.
