DK Recruitment is currently seeking a Lead Marine Architect to collaborate with our client in the marine sector, specializing in complex through-life architectural services.
The Major Infrastructure Projects Directorate is responsible for delivering significant new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects to support various marine sustainment programs.
As a Lead Marine Architect, you will engage with multi-disciplinary infrastructure system designs to enhance overall sustainment capabilities.
Your expertise in facility upgrades and architectural design will be crucial as you manage and review design packages from sub-consultants, ensuring that the integrated facility meets the necessary sustainment requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the architectural components of the dock facility upgrade, ensuring technical performance and providing expert advice on architectural matters.
- Deliver technical design guidance and ensure the integration of architectural designs with other project components.
- Guarantee that design documentation aligns with the project manager's operational scope and is produced to established standards, timelines, and budgets.
- Plan for effective project execution, identifying critical factors and contributing to the technical planning process.
- Ensure robust quality management practices are in place, adhering to the client's business management system and technical manual.
- Maintain thorough documentation of processes and activities, ensuring appropriate records and quality control measures are applied.
- Facilitate effective communication to ensure that staff and contractors are aware of the hazards and risks associated with the work undertaken.
Essential Experience:
- Experience with highly complex buildings in the nuclear sector (desirable).
- Experience with complex buildings in heavily regulated environments (essential).
- Involvement in major civil infrastructure projects within the marine sector.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
- Preferred Chartered Architect status, registered with RIBA.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance.
