As a Clinical Risk Engineer, you will be instrumental in upholding safety standards, fostering a safety-oriented culture across all organizational levels, and maintaining the integrity of the Clinical Risk Management System (CRMS). You will collaborate closely with the Head of Patient Safety and Risk Management, offering technical expertise to improve clinical quality and safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Clinical Safety Engineering, providing guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver safety engineering insights to the platform, ensuring the security of Health IT systems.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing Clinical/Patient Safety and oversee accreditation processes.
- Support the assurance of safety features in Health IT systems throughout their operational lifecycle.
- Work in partnership with clinical and technical teams to manage safety incidents and perform root cause analyses.
- Ensure compliance with relevant clinical safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in the development and management of Hazard Logs and Clinical Safety Case Reports (CSCR).
- Contribute to proposals and modifications, with a focus on Clinical Safety and Risk Management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.
- Background in Clinical Safety Engineering or a willingness to pursue training.
- Understanding of national Clinical Risk and Safety Management standards (DCB0129, DCB0160).
- Familiarity with regulatory standards for Medical Devices.
- Proficient in Risk Management software (e.g., Radar, Datix, JIRA).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
