About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Radiologist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in General Radiology and a subspecialty interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the growing workload and service development in MSK imaging
  • Collaborate with the Orthopaedics department and other specialties to deliver high-quality imaging services
  • Participate in departmental and Trust-wide Clinical Governance and audit activities
  • Contribute to the teaching and training of specialist registrars, junior medical staff, nursing staff, and medical students
Requirements
  • Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register in General Radiology via CCT (or within 6 months from date of interview) or CESR (must be on Specialist Register by date of interview)
  • Medical Degree: MB BS, MBChB or equivalent
  • FRCR or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate Degree, MD or equivalent
  • Participation in relevant national research and audits
  • Experience and interest in a second Imaging subspecialty
Working Environment

The role is based at Bedford Hospital, with potentially one day a week at Luton. The Trust provides hospital services to a growing population of around 700,000 people living across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas across two busy hospital sites in Bedford and Luton.
