Job Summary

GE Aviation's Power Conversion business is seeking a skilled CNC Field Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our site team, you will provide electrical and mechanical technician support to our teams and repair centers in Portsmouth, with opportunities to travel worldwide as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out installation, maintenance, modifications, and material control functions for marine service projects.
  • Assist with the construction of power conversion equipment sub-assemblies.
  • Inspect GE supplied equipment before delivery, in storage, and after installation.
  • Perform planned maintenance before, during, and after commissioning.
  • Visit customer vessels to carry out planned maintenance and assist Field Engineers with breakdowns.
  • Panel wiring modifications and remedial work, upgrade installation on GE supplied equipment.
  • Comply with company and customer EHS policies and procedures.
  • Assist GE commissioning engineers.
  • Assist with stores control and movement of material on/off site.
Requirements:
  • Electrical technicians certificate, mechanical technicians certificate, or equivalent from a reputable College.
  • Practical engineering background.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Ability to use basic computer software.
  • Recognised health and safety training.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Flexibility around working patterns in accordance with business needs.

Additional Information:

For this role:
  • You must be a British national due to the sensitive nature of the work.
  • You must possess or have the ability to obtain MoD Security Clearance.
  • You must meet required medical standards for offshore work and sea survival.
