Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with mental health conditions, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a newly purpose-built Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on our Kingsway Hospital, Derby site. The unit will provide intensive treatment and support to patients with mental health conditions who require a safe and stable environment for their recovery.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will lead the team and work closely with the Ward Manager to ensure the highest level of clinical standards are maintained. You will be responsible for developing and implementing treatment plans, working with patients, their families, and carers to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with GMC with license
  • Approved clinician status
  • Excellent knowledge of speciality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA
  • Ability to work in and lead a team
