Facilities Maintenance Technician

HMP Northumberland presents an excellent opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a variety of maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure the smooth operation of HMP Northumberland. This position necessitates a fundamental understanding of building systems, electrical and mechanical components, along with compliance to safety regulations. You will also be tasked with supervising and collaborating with external service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct general repairs and maintenance across various building systems.
- Assess and enhance the living standards for residents.
- Repair and replace building fixtures and fittings as needed.
- Supervise contractors on-site.
- Collaborate with specialized contractors and assist them as required.
- Perform tasks in accordance with relevant trade standards.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies at all times.
- Carry out additional duties that contribute to the efficient operation of the facility.
- Participate in 'out of hours call out procedures' on an "On Call" rota system and respond appropriately.
- Operate in compliance with Sodexo's policies and procedures.
