Job Title: Legal Cashier

We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join our team at Career Legal. As a Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our clients' cases, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process incoming electronic payments and post them to client accounts
  • Send CHAPS/BACS payments and log all cheques received onto an Excel spreadsheet
  • Post disbursements and deal with disbursement write-offs
  • Process client-to-client and office-to-office journals
  • Reconcile daily bank statements and perform banking duties as required
  • Enter Counsel's fee notes onto the purchase ledger system and pay out Counsel's fees
  • Supervise junior legal cashiers and perform ad-hoc duties
Requirements:
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • In-depth knowledge of Solicitor's Accounts Rules
  • Experience in a legal cashiering role within a legal firm
  • Ability to work well under pressure and have outstanding organisational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of legal finance systems, preferably P4W (Partner for Windows)
